ISPS Familiarization Code

SCOPE

This International Ship and Port facility Security Code (ISPS) Familiarization Training course complies the requirements of the SOLAS Chapter XI-2 (ISPS Code). This course provide knowledge and understanding required for all personnel who are not directly assigned specific duties in connection with a security plan but are involved in the work of port facilities or onboard vessels.

This requires a total of eight (8) instructional hours to cover the topics enumerated in Part B- Course outline

TRAINING OUTCOMES 

At the end of the Training, the trainee must be able to:

  1. Maintain the conditions set out in a Security Plan;
  2. Recognize Security risks and threats;
  3. Undertake regular inspections of the port facilities or onboard the ship.
  4. Proper usage of security equipment and systems, if any.

ENTRY STANDARDS

All trainee must be medically fit enable them to participate in all  aspects of the training.

COURSE CERTIFICATE

On successful completion of the requirements of the course, a certification of training completion shall be issued certifying a holder’s acquisition of the required competency of the Training course ISPS Code Familiarization.
